Heilige Berge - Die Wohnstätten der Götter

image

Manannan Mac Lir

Manannan is a Manx/Celtic God from a time and a pagan religion that precedes Christianity and even the written word. He comes from a time when man's relationship with the Earth was vital for daily survival, and where mutual respect for the elements was of great importance. He was known in many lands as the God of Oceans, a lord of storms and weather, a master of magic, and a friend to all who let themselves dream. Manannan walked the lands and was known as a personality full of mirth, humor, as well as wisdom.
Little has changed over time. Manannan still thrives as a god to this day, offering his protection, guidance, and companionship to a new generation as well as souls that have lived through many lifetimes.
I hope this temple functions not only a tribute to Manannan, but also a source of valuable information.

I have myths and stories here, my own feelings and experiences, instructions on speaking with deities as well as information about the mystical arts.

111 Gods of Ancient Egypt

The old tradition from Heliopolis (Iunu) just north of Memphis in Lower Egypt said the creation of all the gods was made by Kheper, who was another form of their local sun god Re.
He was self-produced and made the other gods out of the matter of his own body. He was the father of many gods like Osiris, Nephtys, Isis, Set, Horus and others.

Indian Gods and Goddesses

image

SURYA is one of the three chief gods of the Vedas. As one of the spheres, the physical sun is the celestial form of fire, Agni, and source of all life. SURYA is at the center of the spheres.Above it are the esoteric spheres of the Supreme Ruler and below it are the manifest spheres of the moon and the earth.
The other name of SURYA is SAVITRI, which means brilliance. In the later ages, like other many Vedic gods, this god became more or less a mythical figure superseded by Vishnu, who came to be regarded by Hindus as the supreme manifestation of the self-Existent the Supreme God. Still the most celebrated mantra (hymn), known as GAYATRI Mantra, is the incantation addressed to SURYA. Also many of the forms of meditation, prayers and rituals used in the daily ceremonies of Hindu Brahmins are addressed to this god.

Japanese Buddhist Deities and Gods

image

Located at Todai-ji Temple in Nara, this statue embodies the Birushana Nyorai. At 15 meters, it is the largest gilt-bronze statue in the world.

In some sects, Birushana is considered to be the reward-body of Shakyamuni Buddha, the Historical Buddha. In others, Birushana represents the true Buddha entity. Vairocana, Birushana's Sanskrit name, means "belonging to, or coming from, the sunlight." Birushana is also the main object of worship in the Kegon-Kyo (the Flower Garland Sutra, also called the Avatamsaka Sutra in Skt.), which is the scriptural authority of the Kegon sect in Japan. Among Japanese sects of Esoteric Buddhism, especially the Shingon sect, Birushana is known as Dainichi Nyorai.

Japanese Buddhist deities are traditionally classified into four categories, and the same scheme is used at this web site. There are other deities that don't fit easily into any category. These latter deities are listed below in a fifth category called "Others." Nearly all listed deities originated in India. The majority of Buddhist sculpture in Japan belongs to the Mahayana tradition. Although sculpture belonging to the Theravada (Hinayana) and Vajrayana (Esoteric) traditions is less prominent, it is nonetheless plentiful. Sects from all three schools are still active in Japan.
