From Comanche flute music to Maori death chants to the bomba and plena of Puerto Rico to sacred songs of Russia to Caribbean calypso - you never know what you'll hear next! Radio Global Sound by Smithsonian Institution.

My Favorites:

Silk Road Radio:
These tracks span from Xi'an (formerly Chang'an), the capital of ancient China, through central Asia to the Mediterranean and the Black Sea and include sounds of Afghanistan, China, Iran, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, and other Central Eurasian nations and peoples.

Radio Haiti:
Some say that Haiti has been in perpetual revolution for 200 years. If so, then that revolution has a soundtrack: one that began with the rattle of the Taino caciques; that invokes healing and fighting spirits with the drums and chants of rada and petwo in Vodou; and that continues to express the appetite for freedom through the sly double meanings (betiz) in the songs of Carnival and rara, the cathartic dance rhythms of konpa and the compelling global edge of mizik rasin (roots music).

Enigma - Goodbye Milky Way

Take a little time to relax and enjoy the beautiful music by Enigma about our galaxy. Pictures of Galaxies and Nebulas fit this song well.

LYRICS: Enigma "Goodbye Milky Way"

Shall I go, shall I stay
107 light years away
many times, so many doubts
But no reason to talk about

Mission is over, mission is done
I will miss you, children of the sun
Now it's time to go away
Goodbye, goodbye milky way

For a better world without hate
Follow your heart, believe in fate
Only visions and the mind
Will guide you to the light

Mission is over mission is done
I will miss you children of the sun
Now it's time to go and say
Goodbye, goodbye milky way

Mission is over, mission is done
I will miss you children of the sun
I go home until someday
I say goodbye, goodbye milky way

In 5 billions years the Andromeda galaxy will collide with our milky way
A new gigantic Cosmic world will be born

Here is another version:

Note: These clips are unofficial ones made by enthusiasts. The second one is in synchronization with some beautiful visualizations from a BBC documentary.

"Goodbye Milky Way" can be found at Enigma's newest CD - visit the official website Enigma - A Posteriori.

Bluemars - Music For the Space Traveller

Long ago, when the waters of Mars were still under the ground and above the sky, our ancestors came to this place and called it “Home”.

And from the high Plains of Tharsis to the Elysium Ocean, from as high as Mount Olympus to as deep as the floor of the Hellas sea, one can still hear the song of our brothers and sisters chanting to us throughout the ages.
This melody is one that is made of hopes... It is sang with the voice of nostalgia, and looks ahead with pride. Listen...

Tune in Bluemars - Music For the Space Traveller.

Most people who underwent cryosleep have reported that the mind seems to naturally retreat into a place of infinite tranquility, where the experience of Time itself is distorted in a subtle way.

Although there is no trace of conscious activity in the brain of sleepers, it appears that Experience itself never ceases, creating atemporals bubbles of memories of transcendental calm when the subject awakes.

Tune in Cryosleep - Zero Beat Guaranteed.

And for sacred healing chant:
Tune in Voices From Within - Words from Beyond.

Welcome to Bluemars, we will shortly transition into synchronous orbit around Phobos where you will be able to board a shuttle down the inertial tether.
Upon arrival, please consult the display in the hall for transportation to one of the three continents on the planet.

Tibetan Musical Instruments

image

Tibet stands at the influence of three civilization, the Turko-Mongolian, the Chinese and the Indian. Enriched from time to time by influences from these, its own ancient tradition has developed in high isolation from the rest of the civilized world. This tradition embraces a very distinctive way of life and a music all its own. Music plays an important part in Tibetan life and has three aspects:

• the folk-music - found in the daily lives of the people
• an art music - cultivated especially by professional minstrels
• the sacred chant and instrumental music of the Buddhist Liturgy and other rites - centering around the monasteries.

The Lamas say "Religion is sound". The recitation of mantras, chanting and the playing of instrumental music are fundamental in their worship.

Jacob Groth & Misen: Der Adler - The eagle - Ørnen

Already at the first TV-series "The Eagle" was noticeable the beautiful theme song: "Forgiveness", composed of the Danish film composer Jacob Groth and sung of his wife Misen. Soon the soundtrack was in demand. Then 2005, to the second series, the soundtrack was published.

The music sounds very much like Enya, very mystical, spherical. The theme song "Forgiveness" enchanted by its magic. Also the other titles of this album cast a spell over you.

image

Enjoy Misen!
Listen now this two parts from the album "Der Adler", "The eagle", "Ørnen" (full):

Forgiveness

I know your name

Lyrics Forgiveness:

I ... I'm a roamer in time
I travel alone
Throughout an endless journey

Home ... where is my home
Fragments of a love life
I won't surrender

When the spirits are calling my name
Then I will have passed all the sorrow and pain

and I`ll go to heaven with you
I´ll lay down my head on your pillow
and ask for forgiveness

Once I was just a child
I saw wide open
You left me broken hearted

Fly ... I have to fly
Searching for the light
I won't surrender

When the spirits are calling my name
Then I will have passed all the sorrow and pain

and I`ll go to heaven with you
I´ll lay down my head on your pillow
and ask for forgiveness

I ... I'm a roamer in time
I travel alone
Throughout an endless journey

Home ... where is my home
Fragments of a love life
I won't surrender

When the spirits are calling my name
Then I will have passed all the sorrow and pain

and I`ll go to heaven with you
I´ll lay down my head on your pillow
and ask for forgiveness

Reverse Speech - Voices From The Unconscious

So what are these backward messages? Do they exist and if so what do they mean and how are they getting there?

image

image

What Is Reverse Speech?

It has been called the discovery of the 7th sense. The research into this phenomenon has been described as being of "Nobel calibre". It has been featured in numerous publications around the world, and in the United States it became a household name in the late 90s. It is called Reverse Speech, the phenomenon of hidden backward messages in speech. It initially gained worldwide fame in the early 80s as those strange backward messages in rock and roll. Since that time, research has progressed significantly and it is now known to exist in all forms of human speech.

If human speech is recorded and played backwards, mixed amongst the gibberish at regular intervals can be heard very clear statements. These statements usually appear in short sentence form and are nearly always related to the forward speech. It appears constantly throughout language, so much so in fact, that it is believed to be a natural part of our speech processes.

The pioneer and 20 year veteran of this field, Australian David John Oates, describes Reverse Speech as another form of human communication:
Reverse Speech - Voices From The Unconscious by David John Oates, Founder of Reverse Speech. (English)

Reverse Speech Examples
This site contains 1000s of examples of speech reversals covering a wide range of topics from politics to health, children and music, therapy and ufos to name a few. These examples are all presented in a standard format. First, a small section is played forwards, and then the reversal is played at three speeds. Other than the speed change, there has been no altering of the sound tracks or enhancing of the sounds. Each backwards section is an exact reverse of the forward section. You can test this by downloading the sound files and reversing them yourself.

Go to the examples of reversals here also by David John Oates. (English)

And Reverse Speech of celebrities by SoulSpeach. (English)

Deutscher Teil:

(German and English)

Create A Sound File On Your Computer For Reverse Analysis:

What you will need is a personal computer with sound card, speakers (and/or headphones), a microphone, and a simple sound editing program. The quality of the sound you get is mainly dependent on the quality of your equipment.

To input sound into the computer place the computer microphone near to yourself, to the radio or the TV. Set the computer software to record. The sound will be input via the microphone and create a waveform. You will have to play around a little bit with the volume level of the radio, TV or your voice and the placement of the microphone in order to get a good waveform. Placement of the microphone is important to prevent noise resulting in unwanted hums in the sound file. It is not recommended that you use any filtering process available in the software as it may degrade the clarity of the reversal.

Once you have recorded your selection into the computer, just select REVERSE (generally found in the EFFECTS menu). Play the file and try to pick out the reversals. You must listen, as there is no way to visually pick out the reversals. Reverse speech is much faster than forward speech so it is helpful to adjust the speed of the playback. I generally start at about 95% and play the file until I find something that I can make out. Most sound editing programs have an indicator so you can follow where you are in the waveform as you are listening to it. Typical of reverse speech containing three to five words.

Or you try the SoulSay RSE (Reverse Speech Editor) - I didn't tested yet.

Online Meditation Music by Radio Sri Chinmoy

Here is an excerpt from Sri Chinmoy's book, "The Source of Music":

"Music is the inner or universal language of God. I do not know French or German or Italian, but if music is played, immediately the heart of the music enters into my heart, or my heart enters into the music. At that time, we don't need outer communication; the inner communion of the heart is enough. My heart is communing with the heart of the music and in our communion we become inseparably one.

Meditation and music cannot be separated. When we cry from the inmost recesses of our heart for Peace, Light and Bliss, that is the best type of meditation. We cannot meditate twenty-four hours a day, but we can meditate, say, for two hours a day. Then we can play music or we can listen to music for a couple of hours a day.

image

Next to meditation is music. But it has to be soulful music, the music that stirs and elevates our aspiring consciousness. When we play soulful music, psychic music, then immediately we are transported to the highest realm of consciousness. When we play music soulfully, we go high, higher, highest.

Each time soulful music is played, we get inspiration and delight. In the twinkling of an eye, music can elevate our consciousness. But if we also pray and meditate, then we are undoubtedly more illumined and fulfilled than a music lover who is not consciously following a spiritual life. Each spiritual musician is consciously spreading God's Light on earth. God is the cosmic Player, the eternal Player, and we are His instruments. But there comes a time in the process of our evolution when we feel that we have become totally one with Him. At that time, we are no longer instruments; we ourselves are musicians, divine musicians. It is the Supreme who makes the proper instrument. Then, it is He who makes the player play properly, and it is He who makes the musician." - Sri Chinmoy

image
Saraswati, Hindu Goddess of Learning ...

In Prabháta Sam'giita one will find a variety of temperaments such as devotional songs, songs of mystical love, songs of social consciousness and ecology, marching songs, songs depicting various stages, feelings and experiences in spiritual meditation, songs on seasons, songs on Krs'n'a and Shiva and many more.

The composer used a variety of forms and styles with elements spanning from classical to folk music. Most of the songs of Prabháta Sam'giita were composed in Bengali, but over forty songs were composed in other languages that include: English, Sanskrit, Hindi, Urdu, Magaht, Maethili and Angika.

Prabháta Sam'giita is a new trend in the world of music. The compositions are known as 'Songs of the New Dawn'. In Sanskrit Prabháta means 'dawn' and Sam'giita is 'the totality of song, instrumental play and dance'. They came into being when Shrii Prabhát Ranjan Sarkar composed his first song at Deoghar, India on September 14, 1982.

Over the span of eight years the treasure of Prabháta Sam'giita grew rich in content, style and variety. On October 20th, 1990, the day before Shrii P. R. Sarkar's worldly departure, the number of Prabháta Sam'giita stood at a staggering 5018.

Fez Festival of World Sacred Music

Do you have some free time in June 2006 and want to fill it with an interesting adventure? If the answer is YES, I have a tip for you. Make a journey to Morocco to the Fez Festival, 2-10 June. "Harmonies" is the theme of the 2006 festival.

In music …

The Fes Festival is widely acclaimed as one of the world’s great musical events. Now in its 12 th year, it brings together performers from every corner of our planet for a week of artistic excellence in Morocco ’s ancient holy city. It represents the spiritual heart of Islam – peaceful, pluralistic, generous and cheerful. It honours all the world’s spiritual traditions and it dissolves musical boundaries. This year’s programme includes French classical, Sufi music from India and Pakistan , a capella spirituals from England , Japanese drumming, a Mass from Argentina and a finale from Mali ’s maestro Salif Keita. Paying performances take place under a giant Barbary oak in the gardens of the Batha Museum and in the Arabian Nights splendour of the Bab Makina palace courtyard. Free concerts are staged in the vast Bab Boujloud Square and late at night with Sufi brotherhood musicians in the Dar Tazi Gardens . A rich diversity of musical expression linked by a common theme – the harmony that we know is possible. The Fes Festival of World Sacred Music brings this into vivid focus.

In words ...
In the year 2000 the festival extended its horizons to include the Fes Encounters -- a forum where academics, politicians, religious leaders and social activists come together to share their views and experience under the rubric Giving Soul to Globalisation. In 2006 the forum asks the questions: How can culture and spirituality become levers that change our attitude towards the environment? Can we find a way to harmonise our points of view so that we can work together to resolve conflicts – or even better prevent them? The Fes Encounters dialogue aims to translate words into action and theory into practice.

Radio Rivendell - The Fantasy Station

I'm becomming an Internet radio junkie. Radio Rivendell plays great music to read and write fantasy, and anything else.
Recommended!

Radio Rivendell is a non-commercial, non-profiting web radio station dedicated to playing the best fantasy music there is. 24 hours a day, all year around.

The music that is being played is mainly from fantasy films such as Lord of the Rings, Conan, Willow and such, but it also features music from well known computer games such as Warcraf, Baldur's Gate, Dungeon Siege and many more. As time passed by Radio Rivendell has tried to promote small bands and independent artists who submit music and has allowed Radio Rivendell to play their music. This is something that will grow in the future.

You need Winamp (Windows), MacAmp (Macintosh), Media Player (Windows), Xmms (Linux) or Real Player (Windows & Macintosh). There could be more compatible players, but these are the most common.

Radio Rivendell, probably the best fantasy music radio station there is! We are broadcasting straight from Imladris in Middle-Earth.

Oh Yesss! You're welcome!
