Father of LSD Albert Hofmann dies at age of 102 by Times Online.
Albert Hofmann, the Swiss chemist who discovered the mind-altering drug LSD seventy years ago, has died at his home at the age of 102. Hofmann died yesterday in Burg im Leimental, the village near Basel where he moved following his retirement in 1971, said Doris Stuker, a municipal clerk. The hallucinogen inspired, and arguably corrupted, millions in the 1960s hippie generation. For decades after it was banned in the late 1960s, Hofmann defended his invention. “I produced the substance as a medicine. ... It’s not my fault if people abused it,” he once said.

What a great find: "The Bicycle Ride" is a whimsical video of Dr. Albert Hofmann's discovery of LSD by David Normal.

It’s half past seven in the morning and she’s preparing for a crucial meeting with the chief executive of the High and Mighty fashion chain. Apart from the black cat dozing on her lap, the only clue to Christeen’s occupation as a 21st century astrologer is a copy of an Ephemeris that lies open at a page marked “Mercury March 25th”. “The financial crisis has ensured that I’m busier than ever,” says Christeen. “People in the City need to know what is just around the corner. We are not alone in the universe.
AT 7:36 P.M. ON May 25, if all goes well, a stranger from Earth will land near the north pole of Mars. It is called Phoenix. To the unscientific eye, it looks like a giant winged bug. It has three legs and a 5-foot-wide central science deck. With its two solar panels deployed, it measures about 18 feet long. It is 7 feet high. It weighs 772 pounds. Its landing parachute is 39 feet wide. When it touches down on the Martian landscape, it will have traveled 423 million miles - the equivalent of almost 18,000 trips around Earth.

'I died in Jerusalem in 1276', says doctor who underwent hypnosis to reveal a former life by Daily Mail.
The last time I 'died' was in Jerusalem in 1276. Pope Gregory X's Crusade against Islam had collapsed and the city's Christians would soon be abandoned to their fate. My final hours were filled with fear. I was besieged in a beautiful vaulted church along with 100 knights. Smoky candlelight glinted off their armour. Some knights were praying, others resting.

Candle Energy

You and Candle Colour Healing

The candle has been used in religion, for healing and for metaphysical purposes for about as long as fire has been around.

It is a very powerful symbol for the activation of more fire and light in our lives - on physical and subtle levels.

It represents the eternal light of the soul and the connection to Source.

The colour emanates its vibration to enlighten the moment and facilitate focus.

Fire has always been regarded as something holy, magical and mysterious.

In most societies, fire first belonged to the gods; the legend of Prometheus and the creation of humanity are but one example. Prometheus is credited with having stolen fire from the gods and given it to mortal mankind.

Fire operates in all aspects of life. From volcanic fires to the fires of ordinary body heat to that all consuming fire of passion in the belly, from the solar fires to the fires of intellect, fire's presence is felt nearly everywhere.

When we use the fires of candles, we are participating in the ritual of fire that has existed throughout the ages.

Therefore this healing practice should be seen as an ancient ceremony of creation.

Look upon the unlit candle as the unlit essence of life energy in the physical body that awaits a renewing touch of fire to help restore health to body and soul.

When you light its flame, imagine you are creating light where there was no light before, bringing warmth and healing where it is needed. This imaging or visualization in itself is extremely healing.

Simple Rules for Candle Use

  • Its colour must respond with the healing required as its vibrational force is activated, released and amplified when it is lit. See this colour chart:

  • The one you choose should be cleansed and anointed before using by rubbing with a light olive oil in an upwards direction towards the wick. This process is called "dressing the candle." It strengthens the colour so that its energies are more vibrant and activated which will make them far more effective for your purpose.
  • Once used for a specific purpose such as in healing, it should not be used for something else as this will set up conflicting vibrations.
  • A strong affirmation of intention must be performed when the flame is lit as well as when it is extinguished as if you are firmly setting and locking the healing energy in place.
  • Get yourself a snuffer or use wet fingers to put out the flame but do not blow it out.

The Art of Travis Louie

This fastidious Krampus always has a pair of disembodied hands levitating in front of it, constantly gesturing like some vaudeville magician(at times, even performing "slight of hand" tricks) For the most part, he uses his hypnotic gaze to put children into a trance, convincing them that they are chickens or chartered accountants working for a firm about to be audited by some large, ruthless government agency(scary stuff).

Spooky pop surrealist Travis Louie created his own imaginary world that is grounded in Victorian and Edwardian times.

It is inhabited by human oddities, mythical beings, and otherworldly characters who appear to have had their formal portraits taken to mark their existence and place in society.

The underlining thread that connects all these characters is the unusual circumstances that shape who they were and how they lived. Some of their origins are a complete mystery while others are hinted at.

He's created portraits from an alternate universe that seemingly may or may not have existed.

Travis Louie is also one of 50 Artists featured in the second publication entitled Metamorphosis 2.

May You Be Blessed

May you be blessed
with all things good.
May your joys, like the stars at night,
be too numerous to count.
May your victories be more abundant
than all the grains of sand
on all the beaches
on all the oceans
in all the world.
May lack and struggle
only serve to make you stronger
and may beauty order and abundance
be your constant companions.
May every pathway you choose
lead to that which is pure and good and lovely.
May every doubt and fear
be replaced by a deep abiding trust
as you behold evidence of a Higher Power
all around you.
And when there is only darkness
and the storms of life are closing in
May the light at the core of your being
illuminate the world.
May you always be aware you are loved beyond measure
and may you be willing to love unconditionally in return.
May you always feel protected and cradled
in the arms of God,
like the cherished child you are.
And when you are tempted to judge
may you be reminded that we are all ONE
and that every thought you think
reverberates across the universe,
touching everyone and everything.
And when you are tempted to hold back,
may you remember that love flows best when
it flows freely
and it is in giving that we receive
the greatest gift.
May you always have music and laughter
and may a rainbow follow every storm
May gladness wash away every disappointment
may joy dissolve every sorrow
and my love ease every pain.
May every wound bring wisdom
and every trial bring triumph
and with each passing day
may you live more abundantly than the day before.
May you be blessed
And may others be blessed by you.
This is my heartfelt wish for you.
May you be blessed.

Ex-Scientology Kids Share Their Stories

He's one of the biggest box-office draws in history, but in recent years Tom Cruise has become more than just the face of his films. He has also become the face of his religion -- Scientology.

A recent video of Cruise ( Note: see also this video of Cruise ) -- made for a Scientology event and leaked online -- showed the star's unbridled passion for his religion and piqued the public's interest in a belief system that has long been surrounded by controversy.

"I think it's a privilege to call yourself a Scientologist," Cruise said in the video.

Cruise is a vocal supporter and close friend of Scientology's worldwide leader, David Miscavige, who took over the reins of power when science fiction author and founder L. Ron Hubbard died in 1986.

Miscavige says Scientology can offer its followers greater ability in all areas of life, rid people of negativity, and make them "clear."

But some former members of the Sea Organization, or Sea Org (Scientology's version of clergy -- the group of people who essentially run the church), including a niece of Miscavige, see another side to the religion. They spoke to "Nightline" about how they became increasingly disillusioned with the Church of Scientology, until they decided it was time to leave.

Ex-Scientology kids, including leader's niece, share their stories: was created by three young women who used to be members of the church, including Jenna Miscavige Hill, who is a niece of Scientology's leader David Miscavige. Hill's parents joined when she was 2 years old. Both her parents were high-ranking members of Sea Org.

"What we're told is that [members of the Sea Org] have to work so hard because they're helping other people," Hill, 24, recalled. "Your family isn't the most important thing."

Life on 'the Ranch' and at Scientology's 'Mecca'

From ages 6 to 12, Hill lived at a Scientology-owned property in California that was known as "the ranch," where she said children as young as 6 had long days. In addition to reading, writing and arithmetic classes and studying Scientology, she said there were physical chores.

"These projects ranged from rock hauling, taking rocks out of the creek, picking them up, hauling them up a hill, putting them in a pile -- these were usually to make rock walls," she said.

As a little girl Hill said she remembers weeding for hours, "no matter how hot or how cold it was outside."

In an official response to a Radar magazine article that included Hill's story, the Church wrote, "Children were never forced to engage in manual labor. Claims to the contrary are categorically denied."

The Church has said about the ranch, which was closed in 1999, that the facilities were "nothing short of spectacular."

Hill said she was asked to sign a billion-year contract to prove her devotion to the Church, because "in Scientology, they believe that you live lifetime after lifetime."

Yogis of Tibet

A yogi, according to this film, is "an individual who has spent years in isolated retreat practicing 'secret,' self-transforming physical and mental exercises. And through these techniques [they] have developed extraordinary control over both mind and body."

The yogis are Tibet's most revered holy men and women, who have developed very specific methods of meditation as a means to enlightenment, yet they are finding themselves pushed into the public sphere in an unprecedented manner.

Yogis are a product of Tibet's unique history. The film does a good job of presenting Tibet's history over the last two millennia very succinctly, and yet with a level of great detail. Its interesting to both those who do and those who do not know about Buddhism.

Very interesting segments are the interviews with the yogis themselves, who illustrate their world-view with eloquent serenity. They emphasize the mind's control over the body.

In one fascinating clip (around 40 min. after start), a younger yogi demonstrates important yoga positions that you will not find in your average health center yoga class. (Never filmed before, which is alone worth all the movie!)

The film includes impressive archived film footage, and interviews with H.E. Choje Togden Rinpoche, H.E. Garchen Rinpoche, Ven Drubwang Konchok Norbu Rinpoche, H.E. Chetsang Rinpoche, and H.H. the Dalai Lama.

During the Chinese takeover, one million Tibetans were killed; many of them were yogis. Had Tibetans not been forced into exile, the story of the yogis might never have come to light.
Perhaps this profound historical, spiritual and educational film will someday be the last remnant of these amazing practitioners.

Enjoy this wonderful documentary, directed by Phil and Jo Borack.

The Witch’s Master Grimoire

The Witch's Master Grimoire contains numerous spells and magical rites in an A-Z format that are simple and easy to follow.

Many of them make use of the power of fire through the flame of a candle. Others rely on the subtle vibrations of herbs, plants, and minerals. Those that require special oils or incenses also provide the recipes for making them.

Lady Sabrina also gives tips on the best and most productive times to cast spells. She recommends working with the phases of the moon, which can be found in The Old Farmers Almanac, or any good astrological calendar. The new moon should be used to begin projects, attract money, or regenerate friendships and health. During the full moon you should work on personal success, career, or love and marriage. Lastly, the waning moon phase is the perfect time to get rid of negative influences and bad situations.

Robbie’s UFOs, First Crop Circle 08 & Telepathic Dog

Today I have some cool stories for you!

Singer Robbie Williams has become obsessed
with UFOs and extraterrestrials:

On December 18 2006, Robbie Williams played the last of 59 stadium shows in a row, announced he was going to spend Christmas at his home in Los Angeles, and then basically disappeared. He was hardly seen at all in 2007. He briefly checked into rehab. He spent quite a bit of time hiking and playing football (he owns a football pitch on Mulholland Drive). Then he stopped hiking and playing football. His record company, EMI, announced he had no plans to release an album in 2008. Today he unexpectedly calls me to ask if I want to go with him to the desert in Nevada to meet UFO abductees.

I'm loving aliens instead by The Guardian.

A radio documentary of their trip, Robbie Williams And Jon Ronson Journey To The Other Side, will be on Radio 4, May 6, at 6.30pm.
Stay tuned!

Crop circle season is upon us:

First Crop Circle of 2008 discovered in England.

This crop formation was first reported to the Silent Circle by local residents during the morning of April 19 2008.
The circle is approximately 180 feet diameter and is positioned high on the North facing flank of Waden Hill, and can be seen from the A361 when approaching Avebury from the Beckhampton roundabout.

Telepathic Dog Experiment

About six months ago I decided to work on trying to replicate a science experiment that skeptics frequently pick on: namely, the experiment done by Dr. Rupert Sheldrake to see if some dogs can form a telepathic link with their owners that lets them know when they’re coming home. Here is the first video from this epxeriment:

Alex Tsakiris by Skeptiko presents also a second video supporting Dr Rupert Sheldrake's telepathic dog theory.

Bloodline - The Movie

In an explosive new documentary, called Bloodline, British filmmaker Bruce Burgess chronicles his two-year investigation into claims Jesus Christ did not die on the cross, but fled to France with his wife Mary Magdalene and their children.

Burgess' findings, documented in Bloodline, have led the filmmaker to believe the "mummified" bodies of Jesus, Mary Magdalene and their children - together with treasures that prove the family's identity - are buried beneath the rural French town Rennes-le-Chateau, where a priest, called Berenger Sauniere, discovered secret documents while renovating his country church in 1891.

The discovery was immediately seized by Vatican officials, and Sauniere was financially rewarded for his co-operation.
But Burgess believes the priest left clues behind in the Rennes-le-Chateau church, so anyone investigating the bloodline myth could use his pointers.

The filmmaker stumbled upon "stolen" parchments that he believes include Sauniere's clues, and joined forces with a team of bloodline enthusiasts to follow riddles and clues dotted all around Rennes-le-Chateau in an effort to find the site of Jesus' final resting place.
