Astronomers Find First Earth-like Planet in Habitable Zone by The European Southern Observatory (ESO). WITH VIDEO.
Astronomers have discovered the most Earth-like planet outside our Solar System to date, an exoplanet with a radius only 50% larger than the Earth and capable of having liquid water. Using the ESO 3.6-m telescope, a team of Swiss, French and Portuguese scientists discovered a super-Earth about 5 times the mass of the Earth that orbits a red dwarf, already known to harbour a Neptune-mass planet.

New 'super-Earth' found in space by BBC.
"We have estimated that the mean temperature of this 'super-Earth' lies between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius, and water would thus be liquid," explained Stephane Udry of the Geneva Observatory, lead author of the scientific paper reporting the result.

Pilot spots 'UFO' over Guernsey by BBC.
Captain Ray Bowyer was flying an Aurigny plane from Southampton to Alderney when he saw the objects through binoculars. Mr Bowyer said he was "pretty shook-up" by the sighting. "This is not something you see every day of the week - it was pretty scary," he said. At first he thought it was the sun reflecting from greenhouses in Guernsey. He said the objects were bright like the sun, but did not hurt his eyes when he looked at them.

Out-of-This-World Hypothesis: Cosmic Forces Control Life on Earth by Space.com.
The rise and fall of species on Earth might be driven in part by the undulating motions of our solar system as it travels through the disk of the Milky Way, scientists say.

This much I know: Gary McKinnon by The Observer. Interview with the UFO hacker.
I believe in UFOs. They were my reason for hacking. As a kid my stepdad would tell me stories of how he saw one in Bonnybridge, near Falkirk, the UFO capital of the world.

Is strange rock from UFO or just a piece of poppycock? by Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
Unidentified flying discs. Secret military missions. Government cover-ups.
The story Philip Lipson and Charlette LeFevre have been researching for years has almost all the elements of a made-for-TV movie. As the story goes, a government employee swore he saw flying saucers three days after a Tacoma man said similar UFOs spewed metal and lava onto his boat. There was even a man in black.

How to prepare for alien invasion by Reuters.
When the aliens finally invade Earth, you may wish you had listened to Travis Taylor and Bob Boan. And if the invasion follows the plot of a typical Hollywood blockbuster, they might also be the guys called in at the last minute to save the day. After all, they have written "An Introduction to Planetary Defence", a primer on how humanity can defend itself if little green men wielding death rays show up at our cosmic doorstep. And yes, they're serious.
