1938 Practice with B.K.S. Iyengar and Krishnamacharya

Big news in the small pond of the Ashtanga Yoga at the moment is that somebody has posted extracts of a film made in 1938 of famous yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar and his teacher Sri T. Krishnamacharya.

This film is a fascinating historical yoga document showing two of the last century’s greatest yoga masters in their prime.
Krishnamacharya in inversions, nauli and various advanced pranayama techniques (4:32 - silent). He was 50 years old when the film was shot:

Iyengar is also very impressive doing what seems to be a modified version of the Advanced A Series of Ashtanga. He is actually doing vinyasas! He must have been around 20 years old during that time.

Phoaaa, awesome!

Here is Part 2 (3:26 - silent):

It's incredible for us! The master really showed us the beauty of strength, flexibility and balance. Isn't it?

MCPetruk, who uploaded them to YouTube, obtained them as part of the footage from an Iyengar Institute VHS.
